My love of nature and wildlife led me to creating sculptures of animals.  After living in Brazil I was fascinated by the animals there and was drawn to sculpting some of the unusual and weird South American creatures.  The Anteater and Capybaras were the first (similar sizes, small Anteaters 12cm long, medium ones 20cm) then the Jacare (a type of alligator, size 25cm across) and Silky Sloth - mounted on a branch sunk into a base, height 35cm.  All of these are hire fired stoneware suitable for displaying outside.  I was later inspired by strange creatures from other parts of the world and started sculpting larger pieces using oxides to decorate, for example the Pangolin (48cm) from South Africa and the Thorny Devil (38cm) from Australia.
